Thursday Punch!
Wow!  Thursday hit me like a punch this morning.  Had a great night working with massage clients, but between the family dogs having nightmares and my son's allergies, I didn't get much rest.

I'l learning that I need to get my rest so that I can be a better massage therapist.  I've tried for too long to be available all the time for my clients.  I've come to realize that for me to be the best that I can be for my family and clients...I need to take time for myself to rest.  

So tomorrow is going to be a great day, filled with great clients and wonderful massage sessions.  but today is my day to rest...right after my son's field day activities, and moving the lawn, and....

Massage and Sleep

As a massage therapist, I already know all about the benefits of massage.  Massage can improve the condition of the body’ largest organ, the skin, it can relax and soften injured, tired and overused muscles, and it can enhance your body’s immunity by stimulating lymph flow-the body’s natural defense system.

But I learned something else about what my body needs…sleep!

I’ve been nursing a sore back all week, and with a full schedule of massage sessions, it hasn’t been easy finding time to, well, take it easy.  But last night I made an effort to go to bed early.  And this morning, my aches and pains felt much better!

I am learning that there are many ways for all of us to take care of our bodies…proper nutrition, massage, rest and sleep.  I’m going to do more to make sure that I get the proper amount of each, starting right now!

I Need A Massage Therapist!

I can sympathize with many of my clients this week.  I twisted my back over the weekend and am having trouble moving around.  

I'm using some self massage techniques, and they seem to be working.  i've got a full night of massage sessions, so I hope I can hang in there!

Massage Relief for Headaches

 Headaches!  We all get them from time to time.  But did you know that frequent headaches are not normal and that there are some things that you can do to relieve the pain?

There are several different types of Headaches.  Migraines, tension headaches and "mixed" headaches...typically a tension headache that leads to a migraine.  But no matter what type of headache you experience, massage may be able to help you avoid the headache all together.

Regular massage can help you manage one of the main causes of headaches...stress!  By reducing the effects of stress on your body, massage can help decrease the chances of a headache developing.  Relaxing massage techniques like Swedish massage help reduce you body's muscular tension by stretching and relaxing the muscles.

Other forms of deeper tissue massage help to balance your body structure.  Bodywork can help change postural patterns, thereby helping to correct muscular stress that can lead to headaches.  

Headaches are not normal and there are things that you can do to live without them.
